Childrens Village Home

Hello World !!!
Thursday ....
Well another week-end coming up.
A colleague of mine is getting engaged next month.
She was working in my previous company.
Im really happy for her.
More so because she is an orphan.
All her life she has been taken care by Childrens Village Home,
a NGO for orphans. They are doing commedable work for orphans.
God bless them. It was so nice that she found a nice boy.
He is working in Mumbai - spoke with him.
Came across as a good boy who will take good care of my friend.
The marriage is fixed for 24the April in Kerala.
Hope to make it there.
Here's wishing them a long and happy married life !!!

Having lots of problems with Blogger lately.
I publish a Post and it does not publish.
I post again and go to see it has already been published.

It is quite a fun to fool on 1 April;

Went to Goa after a long time.
Had a good time in Goa - sun , sand , seista.
Lots of Beers n' loads of fish.
Crabs, Prawns, Squids .... I love sea-food.
Surprisingly the climate in Goa was pleasant.
I thought it would be hot n humid - n' will sweat like a pig.
But it was quite Ok in the afternoons n'
cool in the evenings.
Beaches covered in Goa - Colva, Colangute, Baga.
Feel refreshed - hoping to go back soon. ;)

Sunday - Easter.
Will be going on a small vacation from today.
Will be going to my small fishing village near Goa;

Chinnaswamy stadium on the 24th of March.
Thought I will go for it,
but I've already planned a vaction for Easter.
This happens all the time with me.
Im going out of town and something important comes up in the city.
First time round there was a Deep Purple concert,
then a Scorpions concert,
then India vs. Australia test match,
then Jagjit Singh concert....

Vodka

Hello World !!!
My friend had been on a project to Russia.
She came down to India sometime back.
She got me some Russian Vodka...
So this week-end I went over to their place.
Me and her B/F polished of a bottle of lovely Vodka,
with lots fish, prawns whilst watching some English premier league.
Sunday went pub hopping watching India beat Pakistan
in the 2nd test in Kolkotta.
Looking forward to this week-end, as Good Friday is a holiday.
Planning to go to Goa - but U know many times I plan and
things dont work out - so keeping my fingers crossed this time.

Hello world !!!
School moulds a child's future.
The teachers imbibe the basics of life-
the way we behave, the way we talk,the right path, truth, honesty,
patience, perserverance, discipline, friendship and so many things.
I still cant forget the things some teachers have taught me when i was young.
Our school principal for example - Mr. Agnelo Pinto.
He was a strict man. Our school rules were that everybody
should wear cotton uniforms - b'coz those days cotton was cheap
and the poor could not afford other fabrics- so cotton it was.
It bought in a sense of oneness among the students.
Everybody irrespective of class, caste or color was above the rule.
Then there was our vice-principal who taught me grammer.
It was difficult to score more than 60 out of 100.
I remeber sharing the highest marks 53 - with two other students.
Out of 50 odd classmates - 40 had flunked the paper.
He was coincidently our Hockey coach too.
He taught me how to move with the ball on the flanks
as I was the left winger. And bingo i scored the winning
goal in the Inter school finals.
Memories memories memories....
School brings back so many memories...
Wish I was still back in school...those carefree days....

Technology ...
Well my Mom sends me mail everyday nowadays.
First she was aprehensive about it...
Computer-using the internet.
But now she is comfortable.
On the hand my Dad still does not want to learn
how to operate the comp.
Its been very helpful, since it keeps my Mom
in touch with everybody in the family esp.
since my folks are so far away.
Its Wednesday 16th of the month
and I'm almost broke....
I dunno how I spend so much...
b4 the 20th Im almost broke.
Anyways gotta keep a check on my spending...

Champions league

Arsenal 1 - 0 Bayern Munich
Juventus 2 - 0 Real Madrid
AC Milan 1 - 0 Manchester United
Chelsea 4 - 2 Barcelona

Well Arsenal won against Bayern but having lost the first leg,
they are out of the Champions league. Its gone horribly wrong for them
this season. They are placed 3rd in the Premier league;
Lost the Carling Cup; only Cup they can win is the FA Cup.

Another of my favorite Club - Real Madrid are out too.
They had won the first leg 1-0 and lost the return leg 2-0
in extra time. Such a talented side going down is a waste.

Meanwhile Man. United lost their return leg too.
Chelsea surprised Barca 4-2; having lost the first leg
2-1 ; they go through on aggregate 5-4. Chelsea are going great guns this season
and are on course to win the premiership; having already won the League Cup,
hoping to make a grand treble' having lost the FA cup tie with Newcastle.

So thats all about Football folks.
Cricket India is all set to win the first test against the Pakis.

Dire Straits have dished out classics galore of which I like -

4. So far away.
5. Twisting by the pool. and so the list goes.

Do you know that Dire Straits are Sachin Tendulkar's favorite band.
He rocked Mumbai y'day and my friend called me not to miss it.

Although I 've not heard Ghulam much;
Im a big fan of Jagjit Singh.

Naughty Calvin strikes again !!!

Hello World !!!
Surprised to get a call from a childhood buddy.
Its been almost 4 years since I spoke to him.
He is married and blessed with a lovely daughter and working in Dubai.
Talking to him I thought about all the wonderful things we did
when we were kids. He was two years elder to me.
Play cricket - he was a good fast bowler aka Mcdermott,
with a real long run up. I used to bowl medium pace.
We used to organize matches every sunday and practice
every morning and evening without fail.
Such was the passion to get into the school team.
Hockey season - it used to be hockey.
Football season - football.
He was lucky to play in all the three sports in school,
I got to play only Hockey.
How time flies .... but memories last forever ...
