hindi cinema

Hello World !!!
Hindi cinema has come a long way.
The cinematogarphy, the editing, the sound recording has become so sleek.
I watched a Hindi movie in a theatre after almost 10 years and
I was stunned to see the difference.
I watched "Gangster" - a Mahesh Bhatt movie and it was quite a relevation.
It seemed like I was watching a English movie. Very sleek - no frills.
Songs to premium - shot at the lovely locations in South Korea.
New actors performed quite well. The heroine was stunning, brilliant performance.
She deserves the Best new comers award.
The sound was amazing - first time i watched in DTS - i remember a scene
where they show a gold fish in a bowl and you can hear its swimming sound so clear.
The new kissing lad Emraan Hashmi - ohhh ... heard he has got a kissing scene in every movie and he does'nt disappoint in this movie either.
Another new for me in Hindi cinema - Smooching.
Truly hindi cinema has changed.

Have a nice week ahead folks !!!

Men of the World

Hello World !!!

Someone forwarded this to me and I thought you will enjoy it too -

Extremely important advice and recommendations to be passed on to wives,
girlfriends, fiancés, mothers, sisters, daughters, etc. (to all women in
general) These rules are to be communicated prior to the World Cup in
June/July this year... FAILURE TO ADHERE TO THE RULES STIPULATED AS PER
BELOW WILL RESULT IN SEVERE REPERCUSSIONS.

List Of Rules.

1. From 9 June to 9 July 2006, you should read the sports section of the
newspaper so that you are aware of what is going on regarding the World
Cup, and that way you will be able to join in the conversations. If you fail to
do this, then you will be looked at in a bad way, or you will be totally
ignored. DO NOT complain about not receiving any attention.

2. During the World Cup, the television is mine, at all times, without any
exceptions. If you even take a glimpse of the remote control, you will lose
it (your eye).

3. If you have to pass by in front of the TV during a game, I don't mind,
as long as you do it crawling on the floor and without distracting me. If you
decide to stand nude in front of the TV, make sure you put clothes on right
after because if you catch a cold, I wont have time to take you to the
doctor or look after you during the World Cup month.

4. During the games I will be blind, deaf and mute, unless I require a
refill of my drink or something to eat. You are out of your mind if you
expect me to listen to you, open the door, answer the telephone, or pick up
the baby that just fell from the second floor....it wont happen.

5. It would be a good idea for you to keep at least 2 six packs in the
fridge at all times, as well as plenty of things to nibble on, and please
do not make any funny faces to my friends when they come over to watch the
games. In return, you will be allowed to use the TV between 12am and 6am,
unless they replay a good game that I missed during the day. This rule
however is discretionary. (please refer to rule 2)

6. Please, please, please!! if you see me upset because one of my teams is
losing, DO NOT say "get over it, its only a game", or "don't worry, they'll
win next time". If you say these things, you will only make me angrier and
I will love you less. Remember, you will never ever know more about football
than me and your so called "words of encouragement" will only lead to a
break up or divorce (not necessarily in that order).

7. You are welcome to sit with me to watch one game and you can talk to me
during halftime but only when the commercials are on, and only if the
halftime score is pleasing me. In addition, please note I am saying "one"
game, hence do not use the World Cup as a nice cheesy excuse to "spend time
together".

8. The replays of the goals are very important. I don't care if I have seen
them or I haven't seen them, I want to see them again. Many times.

9. Tell your friends NOT to have any babies, or any other child related
parties or gatherings that requires my attendance because:
a) I will not go,
b) I will not go, and
c) I will not go.

10. But, if a friend of mine invites us to his house on a Sunday to watch a
game, we will be there in a flash.

11. The daily World Cup highlights show on TV every night is just as
important as the games themselves. Do not even think about saying "but you
have already seen this...why don't you change the channel to something we
can all watch??", the reply will be: "Refer to Rule #2 of this list".

12. And finally, please save your ex-pressions such as "Thank God the World
Cup is only every 4 years". I am immune to these words, because after this
comes the Champions League, Italian League, Spanish League, Premier League,
etc etc.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Regards,
Men of the World

Turntable or Record player.

Hello world !!!
Got an old set repaired at home.
The unique thing about this set is that it has a Phonograph or Gramophone in it.
In more modern usage, this device is often called a Turntable or Record player.
And viola it works - I tried some old dusty records and it was fantastic
to hear the old songs playing with fair amount of noise with it though.

I heard a old record of Jim Reeves - wow that magical voice.
Played some old hindi numbers - it was nostalgic.
Hope to get some old records from friends and get lost in history.

I am looking for a new rented house to move in
and its an ardous task searching for a house in Bangalore.
Either the rates are too high or the area is not good...
Hope to find one soon.

Have a nice week ahead folks !!!

1986 - Mexico - my first world cup

Hello World !!!
The Football World Cup starts in Germany on June 10th.
This is one event I would never give a miss.

It all started in 1986 - Mexico - my first world cup. The entire world cup month was spent talking only football in school. We had to stay awake late to watch the matches.

It happened to be Maradona's world cup with Argentina beating Germany in the finals 3-2 after leading 2-0 in the first half. But the Germans never give up without a fight and levelled the score 2-2 midway through the 2nd half. But Argentina scored the winning goal to win the world cup.

This world cup produced some amazing matches. I still remember Maradona scoring the famous " Hand of God" goal against England in the quater finals. The English goal - keeper Peter Shilton protested with the Ref. and Linesman but the goal stood as they had not spotted the foul and this goal will remain in the annals of history as the "Hand of God".

Cameroon was a surprise package in this world cup with veteran striker Roger Milla scoring goals as a substitute to make quite an impact.

Important players i can recall at this world cup -
1. Butragueno (the vulture) for Spain
2. Carlos Valderamma of Colombia with the dreadlocks
3. Enzo Scifo of Spain
4. Karl Heinz Rumminege of Germany
5. Gary Linekar of England
6. Enzo Francescoli of Uruguay
7. Socrates/Zico/Careca/Falcao of Brazil
8. Michel Platini and Jean Tigana of France
