Goan weddings

Hello World !!!

Been to my friends sister wedding last week-end.
It was wonderful. The bride looked very beautiful in the lovely white gown.
Goan weddings are so very grand.

Grand Buffet - Lots of seafood like prawns/crabs/lobsters, mutton, beef, chicken...
Hmm... Sumptous.... Hmmm...

Band playing live music - Band was SkyHigh playing traditional Goan numbers
with good English dance numbers and lots of Popular Hindi numbers.

Well stocked bar - Whiskey/Beer was flowing like water.

In short lots of drinking - dancing in the lovely music and meeting
lots of old buddies and Families in Goa.

Goan weddings are the best.

AC Milan vs. Barcelona

Hello World !!!
Y'day watched the AC Milan vs. Barcelona semi-finals
of the Champions League. It was an exciting game
AC Milan missed two chances in the first 10 minutes and
these proved costly in the end as Barcelona won the match 1-0.
Another outstanding display by World Footballer of the Year -"Ronaldinho".
This guy is a magician - exemplary dribbling skills, great balance
and a wonderful vision to deliver inch perfect passes.

Today is the Arsenal vs. Villarreal semi-finals at Highbury.
Another late night. Hoping the Gunners score at least 2 goals.
King Henry show your class.

Happy Easter

Hello World !!!
Been a long week-end for all of us in Bangalore.
Last Wednesday - Dr. Rajkumar(May his soul rest in eternal peace)
- the great actor and singer of Kannada movies expired.
As the news spread about his demise, there was absolute mayhem
in the city - with anti-social elements taking to the streets
and throwing normal life out of gear. Shops were forcibally shut down,
vehicles set on fire - roads blocked with burning tyres. Disgusting.
Thursday was the funeral in Kanteerva stadium and more violence
followed with the unruly crowds going out of control.
5 people died in the ensuing police firing.
A sad way to pay a tribute to the great actor.

Friday was a holiday - So i had planned to go to my hometown,
but with all this mayhem i decided to cancel my trip.
"Happy Easter to everybody"

Gone are the days........but not the memories

Gone are the days
When the school reopened in June,
And we settled in our new desks and benches.

Gone are the days
When we queued up in book depot,
And got our new books and notes.

Gone are the days
When we wanted two Sundays and no Mondays, yet
Managed to line up daily for the morning prayers.

Gone are the days
When we chased one another in the corridors in Intervals,
And returned to the classrooms drenched in sweat.

Gone are the days
When we had lunch in classrooms, corridors,
Playgrounds, under the trees and even in cycle sheds.

Gone are the days
When a single P.T. period in the week's Time Table, Was awaited more
eagerly than the monsoons.

Gone are the days
Of fights but no conspiracies,
Of Competitions but seldom jealousy.

Gone are the days
When we used to watch Live Cricket telecast,
In the opposite house in Intervals and Lunch breaks.

Gone are the days
When few rushed at 5:30 to
"Conquer" window seats in our School bus.

Gone are the days
Of Sports Day, and the annual School Day,
And the one-month long preparations for them.

Gone are the days
Of the stressful Quarterly, Half Yearly and Annual Exams,
And the most enjoyed holidays after them.

Gone are the days
We learnt, we enjoyed, we played, we won, we lost, We laughed, we cried,
we fought, we thought.

Gone are the days
With so much fun in them, so many friends,
So much experience, all this and more.

Gone are the days
But not the memories, which will be
Lingering in our hearts for ever and ever and
Ever and ever and Ever.

I hope you went back to your Golden Olden days..........
For a while..........as I DID!!

The Gunners

Hello World !!!
Long time since I updated my blog.
Been tied up here and there and
sometimes been plain lazy to Blog.
Watched the Champions league action the other night.
Arsenal - my favourite club are through to the semi-finals.
First time they have reached this stage in this competition.
Hoping they beat Villareal in the semi-finals and set up
a mouth watering clash with the winners of the
Barcelona vs. AC Milan match.
