How was the week-end folks ???
I got passes for the WTA - Bangalore Tennis Open Finals.
Neatly organised by the KSLTA in Cubbon Park.
The stadium is set amidst the greenary of Cubbon Park.
KSLTA roped in the right sponsers - with Giant screens showing the matches
outside the stadium for people who could not get tickets to the event.
There were Live Bands playing to entertain the crowds and lots of Food stalls too.
Mara Santangelo beat Jelena Kostanic, 3-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 in the singles Finals.
Sania Mirza along with South Africa's Liezel Huber defeated Russian duo of Elena Vesnina and Anastasia Rodionova 6-3, 6-3 in the doubles Finals.
Sania Mania gripped the stadium with the crowd cheering her for every point.
Sania has got a good baseline game with a very strong forehand. She needs to improve a lot on her Serve and her Volleying is pathetic.
But the crowd was happy that Sania won the Doubles - because she lost the Singles in the Second Round although she was the top seed for this tournament and expected to win it.

Sania took NewYork by storm when she was here at the US Open last year. Some potential. A pity she lost in the second round. l
